Help with graphics settings

Ok so i would like to tone down the graphcs effects from Trackmania Nations Forever, but i dont really have too much of an idea what the effects actually are.

I would like to keep the dirt being shown on your vehicle, but turn other effects off, like if you are looking towards the sun, the colours desaturate, which really distracts me.

So i am asking, what do the following settings do, and if i were to change them, would they affect my desired effects that i stated above?

PostProcess FXs-turned on
Force Dynamic Colours-turned on
Force Bloom-turned off
Particles on cars-set to All Medium
Projectors on cars-set to My Car
