Exclamation No coop in the DLC for initial release

Sorry to break out the news to you, but there is no coop in the upcoming dlc.

This means the workshop does not allow Co-op maps and you cannot make Co-op maps with the in-game editor.

This was a decition to release as soon as possible but they want to implement co-op in a future update.

Here is a screenshot of a private message with Odessa Cubage where he lets me tell you guys this.

I just do not want to create false hopes from other sources.

In case you do not know, there is a trailer tomorrow, so I am eager to see that too!

The thing you're leaving out, probably purposefully, is "in the initial release". They are still working on it, it's not "not going to be there".

Also.... who cares?

he clearly said in his post they want to relise it in the future
and its no in this dlc so everything he said is 100% true and 0% misleading

Amm, a couple of people cared I think.

They plan for sometime before June.

Aw, what a bummer and I was really looking forward to the co-op making too.

Oh well, at least it'll get implemented later on, hopefully soon after it's initial release.

You might want to read it again. Valve said that even if something goes a bit wrong, it will be out before June.

Yeah but it clarifies it for the other people who might not press the link and assumes that you posted the correct information.

Why should it not be possible to create co-op maps? 0.o Isn't this already possible in Hammer?
I can understand it not being possible to do any matchmaking with custom co-op maps yet, but they should still make it possible to make them and play with people on your friends list or something -_-

Honestly, I'm glad they made this choice. I would rather have the editor now with a few missing features (which would be added later on) than have to wait another few months to use it at all.

And if you really wanted to make coop maps, I'm thinking you could build the puzzle in the editor, then tweak it to support coop in Hammer.

Yeah, but what would they need to add for Coop? The Coop spawn point, the coop door, and that's it, the rest is the same. Oh, and a way to mark it as a Coop map when uploaded.

Um, I care. And I'm sure most people do too.

I don't want to get my hopes up for creating co-op levels on May 8th only to learn that I can't.

Of course we all want it right instead of early. That doesn't mean "Ohh, I don't care what features they release on May 8th. A level editor? Or only more hats? I don't care."
