Fatal Demo bug

Comes up whenever I try to start the demo. Safe Mode makes zero difference.

I had this too, it's easily fixed by creating the directory mentioned in the error so the program can create a file in it.

edit - so in your case: c:\program files (x86)\Steam\userdata\6207808\210840\local

that directory already exists for me, still got the same problem

In that case, try running the game as Administrator.

If that doesn't work, try right-clicking this 'local' directory and checking its permission. Remove the 'read-only' attribute, if checked.

Appreciate the help, unfortunately all that doesn't help. I changed permissions of the entire directory and ran the game as admin specifically (although I am always on my admin account). Still the same error.
I did cancel one time during the 'first run setup', could that have caused it?

Fixed it by restarting the PC, maybe restarting steam is enough.

EDIT: ! I quit the game to post this in all quiet and now when I boot it up I get the exact same error back and it won't work anymore!

I'm sorry for this issue. We are trying to fix it, but it seems not to reproduce in our office, so we will publish the new version of Demo with more debug information on this sortly and try to get your support to fix it.

Tell us when the new demo is up please, because while this is an awesome looking game, I can't reasonably buy what I can't use.
