DDoS attacks

hi,

i kicked someone that i suspected of cheating off a server i have admin rights to, now every game i try to play (on this server or not) this muppet DDoS attacks it, meaning the game is unplayable. I have a private profile, so not sure how he can stalk me through the game...

is there anything that can be done about this?

cheers

if your lucky steam might ban him from left 4 dead 2 or steam entirely

now use this information to make a support ticket
https://support.steampowered.com/

just call it
steam member dadas is performing DDoS attack
followed by a short description when you end it add the screenshots as an attachement
steam will investigate it
but incase it isn't a DDoS attack try changing your download region

steam do nothing about dos attacks as its nothing to do with steam ,, you dont need an account to do a dos attack , i reported someone about 4 months ago and he still is unbanned
even if he was banned he could still attack you
so there is a couple of things you can do
1st SRCDS Denial of Service Protect

2nd if the attacks still happen after this you can block the attackers IP or IP range ,there are various ways of doing this ,to find the attacker use a packet sniffer or internet sniffer
3rd change your ip address
4th get some proper protection ie a hardware firewall
5th wait for valve to fix the exploit

if he was the one attacking then he also should have high (as he has to send extra information theoretically he should have the highest ping) ping this pic only proves he has low ping

steam will do nothing what are you expecting them to do ?

Thing is though, It's not just me, I could have no Anti-Virus software and sure, It'll still happen, Not worried about him hacking me, Just another kid who's angry online, And sure if they banned him he still could do it to me and the many many others, But if i was him and i got banned, I don't know about you but then he wouldnt be able to stalk and follow the server list's of games i go into no more, result.

Guys this shouldnt be a discussion, He followed me and my friend into multiple lobby's, kicked many times, then maybe his friends joined also, He had many chances to get the server IP so kicking really became pointless, We played first 5 minutes, and while he was in, Dos happened, his ping stayed low, I was host, and on a server which does not ever lag, If i thought at the time to take pictures of him laughing and saying it was him doing it i would of, but sadly didn't think of doing that, I followed 'restlessgamer75' advise, case closed.

The funny thing is with all the problems this game has internally.

This one...

Effectively allowing one loser somewhere to shut down a server of any kind (Official/3rd party) with the click of a button somehow seems to be down the list of importance when it comes to the issues with the game.

I question whether its...

1. Because the issue hasn't been raised enough
2. Because the issue hasn't been raised enough because we don't want more trolololos figuring out how to do it only to add to its misery
3. Because of all the other problems the game has

Denial of Service. Effectively blocking the customer from being able to use a product seems like a BIG issue that Valve SHOULD fix ASAP.

it was using one of my friends' servers. i have admin on it, but that's about it.

aside from contacting steam, which you seem to think is futile; what can we do to get this guy severely screwed over?

surely it's illegal to DDoS?
