Launchpad keeps on crashing

I downloaded and installed EQ2 without any hitches but I hit play from Steam and the SOE screen comes up, lingers for a few seconds and closes. I tried reinstalling and that didn't help. Any ideas?

same crap here, you can play if you launch game from its installed folder but when you try open SC-Shop in-game it will pop a message that shop cant be used if 'steam' is not running. So game is playable but SC shop is not available.
