After 10 hours, I just need a couple of things cleared up
I'm 10 hours in and the game is really starting to click for me, but I've got a couple of lingering questions.
1. How should I go about getting a heatsuit? Can they be crafted, or should I just hope I get lucky and find one (or that one shows ups as a mission reward)? 2. Is there any crafting aside from spellgem crafting? 3. Is it possible for some continents to have no instances of certain regions? For example, I've been unable to use some spells because my continent does not appear to have a single "Ocean Shallows" region, which is preventing me from completing a couple of unlockables. 4. Is there a strategic map in the game, where you see your settlement from a top-down, citybuilder view and construct buildings, etc.? I've seen screenshots and videos of something like this, but can't figure out how to access it in the game. Is it unlocked at tier 5, or has it been since patched out of the game? 5. What are these "fences" lying all over my settlement? Do they serve a purpose? Because if not, I'd like to destroy them in order to make room for trees and such. 6. For the people that have been playing for longer: about how long (in hours) would you say it takes you to complete a continent (from first getting to the continent to the defeat of the overlord)? Obviously this number varies, and I'm assuming the first continent takes a bit longer than the following ones (though I'm not sure, and the opposite may be true), but if you had to guess an average per-continent playtime based on your experiences, what would it be? |

1. The HeatSuit is picked up from stash rooms, though only in stash rooms in certain regions. Check the Planning Menu for details on which regions you can find it in.
2. You collect resources for constructing buildings in the settlement which are used for guardian powers, wind shelters, and bouys, but I'm not sure if you'd call that crafting. 4. It has been patched out of the game. The closest thing to this right now is the building menu which can be accessed using the Green Guardian Ilari. 5. It really depends for me. Continents get more difficult later on, but the biggest thing is just where various things happen to be. Whether or not things like the Lieutenant and Overlord lairs fall inside windstorm areas or not and how deep can add or subtract several hours. Regions like lava flats and oceans can affect this quite a bit as well. Personally, I think my second continent was shorter than my first continent, and my third continent was the shortest one so far. However, my fourth one is taking over twice as long as my first one and is turning into my longest. Last edited by paul1290: 04-29-2012 at 03:41 PM. |

3. As for the Ocean Shallows, i didn't see them at first neither. I saw them later. Maybe they appeared when i upgraded my tiers. But you should definitely have some on your first continent. 5. They serve to nothing, feel free to destroy them to plant trees ![]() 6. It took me more or less 15 hours It can vary from the way you play I feel like my second continent will take me even more time
