Critical Error - Help!

Anyone know why i get this error

-Graphic device is invalid. please run the configuration tool-

I've got an alienware m17x with an Nvidia 580m. When i run the configuration tool, the graphics card does not show up as an option, only the intergrated graphics card. This laptop runs every game from crysis 2 to battlefield 3 so i know it's not the PC. Anyone have any idea what is causing this? please don't ask for my specs, it won't do anything. And i have tried re-installing the game twice. No luck. Anyone have a fix for this? thanks in advance.

Best guess: Update GPU driver even if you have to choose a beta driver.

I did that, it did not help. I have the latest drivers for my card. Thanks for trying.

It's an issue that happened in Sonic Generations as well in laptops that use the Optimus technology, read these 2 posts to fix the issue (2nd link is about Sonic Generations, but the same fix works in Binary Domain).
