Torchlight stutters every 5 seconds or so, and it gets pretty annoying. I know that playing it in offline mode fixes it, but I also heard achievements that use stat numbers, (Master Smasher for example), do not unlock at all. I also heard that using safemode will fix it, but when I use safemode, the game thinks I'm using a demo version of the game, and it won't let me use my save! Is there anyway to overcome any of these problems?
specs: cpu: amd athlon 64 3800+ 2.4ghz single core video card: nvidia geforce 9400gt ram: 2 gb OS: windows xp Also, this is the only game I have that stutters. EDIT: other games are starting to stutter now. I have a feeling that it's not the game, it's the hard drive. I'm sorry if i caused any trouble. Thank you all for your time. Wow, this is exactly like a very old issue that was supposed to have been fixed. I assume you've read this whole topic already. It was the first search result I got. So does the alt + tab trick help?
Also, are you using Avira? |

For the stuttering you should send in a copy of your dxdiag to customerservice@runicgames.com.
For the achievements, those are Steam problems - they don't always unlock properly or on the first try, or have hidden requirements that aren't mentioned. Here's a thread about how to successfully get all the achievements: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21485 |

Ok, I think the stuttering is almost gone now, thanks to the alt+tab method. I also sent a dxdiag, msinfo32 file and my ogre file to their support email. I should receive a reply within the week.

If he doesn't get back to you in a week (the sudden influx of new customers can slow things down) let me know (webbstre@runicgamesfansite.com) with a link to this thread and I'll personally poke Brian and point him at you.

Sorry but those specs expired last year, if not the year before.
You need to be on Windows 7 by now. You need more than 2.4ghz. You need more than 2gb of ram. Will fix all your issues. |

Ummm, that's not what Torchlight 1 and Torchlight 2's system requirements say... The game runs fine, it's just the stutter issue.
