I agree. They look like they are strobing. Just take out the flicker and we can all sleep well.

It's pretty obnoxious. It also makes it nigh-impossible to set traps with crit stickies.

I don't even understand why it was put in place. I've never had any problems identifying stickies before, and I sure haven't met anyone who's ever thought it was a problem.

But dead bodies are client based, meaning two players wont see the body in the same place, so you cant use this trick...

I remember playing HL2 DM you could plant slams (the remote proximity mines) underneath health packs for a while. Now THAT was a trap.

It's basically to make it harder to place crit-stickies in a hidden trap, like above a doorframe. Pain in the back though, as 1 crit sticky can mean you have to start over unless you're using the Scottish Resistance.

I'm sure this is just another one of Valve's little mistakes, like how they broke the volcano fragment before the last patch. My question is, why in the world were they even messing with the auras in the first place? O.o

They probably did it because at first reguler crit stickies were hard to see.

I've noticed that they stop glowing after they are armed and ready to detonate. So it still possible to make traps.

But yeah the glow idea is pointless if you ask me.

I'm actually really liking the glowy stickies, and demoman is my favourite class. I've always had trouble seeing red stickies against dark surfaces on account of being colourblind, so the glowy-ness makes me feel better about falling into traps.

And really, it's not as though the sticky launcher couldn't do with a little nerfin' by making its traps more conspicuous. That thing is powerful.
