anno 1404 chapter v

can't seem to increase the patrician numbers got to 1000 that's all, how do i get to the next level I've built more peasant houses and got acension rights but no luck any help please also I can't seem able to build a print store do I perhaps need other items first

Do you have glass? You need 1800 gold, tools, wood, stone, & glass to build a printing house.
