Can anyone explain Gothic 3 patches to me?

Like, I have all the Gothic games on steam, and I played Gothic 3 unpatched like 2 years ago, but there's all these community patches and then the Forsaken Gods Enhanced edition

is forsaken gods the unofficial community patches + gothic 3 and an expansion pack? should I buy that and play it instead of Gothic 3? or should I just reinstall Gothic 3 and use the community 1.75 patch?

Forsaken Gods is a completely different take on Gothic 3 (I myself don't own it)... If you have a vanilla version of Gothic 3, then the 1.75 patch is all you need currently...

Forsaken Gods kind of got mixed to poor reviews - it is difficult to to get the full skinny on it...

(To clarify, Forsaken Gods appears to be a completely seperate game, although they reused alot of the same assets from Gothic 3 if I am not mistaken)...

Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods is the official addon on Gothic 3. It is a stand-alone addon and you do not need to have Gothic 3 for playing Forsaken Gods. It is continuing the story of Gothic 3 and as MushRush said above it is using some of the landscape of its main title. It is no secret that Forsaken Gods was quite un-playable at release and a huge patch of around 1.5 GB fixed the issues and improved the graphics of this title and since that date of the implementation of this update, Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods has been called Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition. Hope this information is what you have searched for

after u applies patch it will be "Enhanced Edition"
if u already have box version of gothic 3 u must not but it in steam
