[FIXES] - For those with issues
FIRST TRY THIS:
It seems installing this pre-requisites inside the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\orion dino beatdown\Binaries\Redist and C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\orion dino beatdown\Binaries\InstallData\dotNetFx40_Full_setu p.exe will fix some issues. For some reason Steam does not install that upon first launch. Currently the two largest bugs we are having are related to the Player Count error on Find Servers and a crash bug only a minority of you are experiencing. If you're experiencing a crash after loading please post your PC Specs, OS and all that jazz here: http://spiralforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=2300 If we can iron out these everything will be golden by Monday. While this may not nail down some issues, this will solve some: [taken from Spiral FB Page] [QUICK HOTFIX TEST] We may have ironed out an issue that is possibly plaguing a large majority of you. Anyone that is experiencing game crashes or issues joining servers can you please do the following and reply: Step 01 - Shut down Steam. Step 02 - Open your 'Steam/SteamApps/common' folder. Step 03 - Check if you have two ORION folders. 'orion prelude' and 'orion dino beatdown'. Step 04 - Delete the 'orion prelude' and 'orion dinobeatdon' folder IF you have both. Step 05 - Open Steam again and go to your games Library. Step 06 - Right-click on 'ORION: Dino Beatdown' and do 'Delete Local Content'. Step 07 - Re-download the game and verify there is only one folder in your 'Steam/SteamApps/common' folder. Post here if you can join a bit smoother. Details coming soon once we figure out a few more areas. UDK has stopped responding error: Try going to \steam\steamapps\common\orion dino beatdown\Binaries\InstallData running dotNetFx40_Full_setup.exe from and chosing repairing .net 4.0 steam\steamapps\common\orion dino beatdown\Binaries\Redist and running UE3Redist.exe Can't join a server: Currently you can only join servers with the SGSDS prefix. ---------------- For those that are having problems with key bindings you'll have to modify the DefaultInput.ini file for now, which is in the "steamapps/common/Orion DB/UDKGame/Config" directory i believe. I'll try to put out a program tonight to help with some of the issues. Video Memory Error 1. Open command prompt with Administrator rights. To do this, go to Programs, Accessories, right-click on Command Prompt and select "Run as Administrator." 2. Enter the following at the prompt and press enter: bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 3072 3. Close the prompt and restart the computer. I'm going to be compiling a list on my first post of all the bugs reported and if there are any fixes for them yet or not. Hopefully that will help direct some people. Otherwise we'll be waiting for the patches.

Eh, I think there are bigger concerns... I think some people have the alpha version. I think i'm one of those. If I press F4 or F5 the textures change(F4 = Grey scale textures, F5 = Red scale textures), this is not something I should be able to do in the finished game without some tweek of some sort. Also, F1 = Third person(But I want that).
Also, folder shows as 1.4Gb, STEAM shows as downloading 1.4Gb but STEAM reports the game as 762Mb in size when I go to properties through STEAM. WTF? Last edited by Larry1212: 05-04-2012 at 02:48 PM. |

The game running two separate UDK.exe's seems to be causing the inability to create or join games. I've manually forced close one of the processes and now I can get into games which I couldn't before. Seems to work every time.
Need to exit out of the game, open task manager and close the process and then restart and it works. |

Don't trust the size that Steam tells you, when you go to your steam directory you want to right click on the orion folder and it should say 1.44Gb
