What will you do to pass the time?

Since the earliest release date for TL2 would be mid to late June, and most are thinking a July or even August release...

What games are you playing to sooth that Action RPG itch? I don't really know what to pick up or start up... Here's a few I have been playing off and on.

Darkspore

This game is highly underrated. This would have been one of my all time favorites, if it wasn't for the online only madness. For a MMO, it works. IMO, it just doesn't have much of a purpose in this type of game.

The customization and leveling system were really fun. The skill combos were really cool and required some thought to pull off. The gameplay was solid hack, slash, loot, with some interesting twists. The Risk/Reward system was also pretty cool.

The more stages you ran in a row, the better quality loot you would get in the end as a bonus. However, if you failed, you lost. No bonus for you. So at the end of each stage you either continued for more loot and better loot, or claimed you winnings right there. Fun stuff. Of course, an internet hiccup could end you chain...

Torchlight

This game... just doesn't get old. I don't like the swamp ruins area much but everywhere else is pretty solid. Tons of mods and whatnot breathe life into this gem.

I've currently started leveling a melee Vanquisher. A sword and shield melee Vanquisher. All for the pure hell of it. Good times.

Dungeon Defenders

A bit... different than the norm, but a good game nonetheless. Fair warning to those with bandwidth caps, Trendy tends to update this game... a lot. These patches are mandatory to play online. Also, it's rather DLC heavy. The Eternia Crystal DLC is vital to end game character progression.

I've also been playing some action MMORPGs. Dragon Nest, Rusty Hearts, etc.

I'm here to talk about Torchlight; not other games.

Yeah, I'm going through the motions with Torchlight, since I got it with the preorder. Lonely at times, but it's a lot of fun.

Yup.

The answer is obvious. Play Torchlight 1 to pass the time.

Don't forget to check out the Torchlight 1 mods!
http://www.runicgamesfansite.com/

http://forums.runicgames.com/viewforum.php?f=20

The best bet is the runic fansite because a lot of mod creators uploaded their mods to various sites like Megadownload that got shutdown awhile back. However the fansite basically has all the mods on their site for downloading.

Well, i'm playing the original Torchlight right now. Though I expect I will squeeze a Dragon Age: Origins playthrough in there as well.

Playing Torchlight 1, Space pirates and zombies, and Aion since it's gone f2p.

In between playing TF2 till I get bored with it, I'm going through all the GTAIV campaigns because it's been forever since I played them.

Those two by themselves are taking a ridiculous amount of time. I haven't even begun to play Torchlight 1.

I've got a ton to do.

And after all this there's Skyrim. I put hundreds of hours into games like this and that's only counting first playthroughs.

So yeah, I can wait for Torchlight 2 to come out. When one of the devs insisted that we have other things to play in the meantime, he meant it.

Umm, play the TL2 beta? At least until Diablo 3 releases next week, then I'll switch over to that until TL2 is officially released.

//No, there is no NDA on the beta right now.

I'll probably try to finish Legend of Grimrock and Spare Pirates and Zombies. Maybe another play of the Witcher 2 with the new enhanced edition. Play the Guild Wars 2 beta if I have the chance. Been wanting to check out more Dungeons of Dredmor. And theres always the Torchlight 2 beta of course. So many choices.
