Does buying OA let me play Day Z?
Day Z requires ARMAII: CO, but CO is just ARMA II and OA, so if I buy OA through steam, does it give me effectivly CO, or does CO have other stuff in it as well?

If you want Day Z, you need to have both ARMA II and OA, one or the other isn't enough.

Thanks, I should have clarified, I already have Arma II, I was wondering if OA upgraded me to CO or not.

I'll just beat the dead horse and say yes there is a way to combine the two games to make CO, you should google how to do it. I think on the BIS forums someone posted how to do it.

I think you have to install and play both games once and then when you start up arrowhead there an option that says play combined operations.

Actually, you can just right-click OA in your Steam library, and you will see an option called "Launch ARMA 2: Combined Operations".
What I'm currently trying to figure out is how to make a desktop shortcut that will launch it. EDIT: Got it... in the following (default) folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ ... there's a file called "_runA2CO.cmd" Make a shortcut to that, and you can run CO from your desktop if you like. You DO have to launch both games (ARMA 2 and OA) separately first, or it won't work. Last edited by bdo7: 05-13-2012 at 07:23 PM. |

I use Arma II Game Launcher for managing mods and setting launch parameters. It will also create shortcuts for your different mod configs and settings.
You can find it HERE Again, follow the advice given above. Install Arma II and then run it, this will force a windows registry update. Then install and run Operation Arrowhead, same thing will happen with the registry. You can install both Arma II and AO at the same time but it's important to launch the games separately before you launch Combined Operations. Last edited by simonjames1975: 05-14-2012 at 05:00 AM. |
