The pyro needs another shotty on Meet the Pyro update.

He already has 3 similar long range single shot fire-setting ones and one "borrowed" from the soldier so it's not exclusive.

How about a shotgun that can mini-crit players but instantly extinguishes them but deals little to no damage when they're not? OP? UP? Too situational?

Any other good shotgun ideas from you guys?

The Family Business.

But first, it needs to be fixed with a reload and firing speed increase.
The damage penalty is fine, or increase that too.

I'd prefer Family business for Soldier, Engie and Pyro as well

Level 10 shotgun
Deals +15% damage to burning enemies
30% Slower firing speed
-50% Clip size
Cannot be crit-boosted
50% Slower switch speed when equipped with Degreaser
25% Slower Switch speed with any other flamethrower


just an idea

any weapon that deals increased damage needs a severe downside to balance it out

stupid Enforcer not following the rules...

If a weapon needs to have downsides that only apply when it's equipped alongside some other unlock, it's fundamentality flawed. A weapon should be the same for all unlocks, and if it's not possible to make it balanced that way, then it shouldn't be put in the game at all.

But look at what happens when an unlock removes a weapon's downside.

You're right, the enforcer shouldn't be in the game.

Although wouldn't it be funny if its downside applied to the dr, and encouraged people not to use the Dr to escape an easily avoidable death due to lack of skill?

I really don't see why only the heavy should have family business? It's a fairly simple weapon and is just a stat change (unlike the Reserve Shooter). I guess one could also say the engie should have the winger... but if it were my way, nobody would have the winger.

The Dragonbreath

fires a huge burst of short range fire
+ 30% damage compared to a regular shotgun
100% increased spread
can ignite multiple opponents
inflicts afterburn

Uses 50 flamethrower ammo per shot
-50% firing rate
knockback stops your movement for 0.5 seconds

+50% damage against ubercharged players
100% minicrits against Krit charged players(no damage change)
-40% movement speed drain per shot against MegaHeal charged players (no damage change)


-50% damage against non-ubered players(normal damage when used against ubered players)
-50% clip size
No random crits


Now heavy/medic spam won't be completely unstoppable.

Kinda hard to make another Shotgun for Pyro, if anything I'd like to see a Shorstop kind of shotty, you know, one that does slightly less damage at point blank but more at mid range
