What's my internet connection speed?

My task management says 54Mbps. So Which one should I select in the internet connection speed options?

modem - 56k
DSL > 256k
DSL > 768k
DSL/Cable > 2M
Cable/Fiber > 10M

btw, I'm using a modem (But I've accidentally switched a wireless connection to it. Don't know how to get the wire connection back.)

the 54Mbps you see in task manager is the speed between the computer and the modem/router not the actual internet speed,as second opinion says go to speedtest.net or better yet find out if your isp offers a similar service.

Just pick the 10mb always have picked it, it makes no diff from what I can tell I always download at full speed

want to know your download and upload speed of your internet connection i suggest scanmyspeed. using this download desktop gadget for speed test

so which one is the real speed. The ping download speed or upload speed.

Both, but in this case the download speed is the value you are looking for.
