How do I change the download location on Steam?

Like, I want a game to install to a different location, do I just drag all the files to that hard drive?

Reinstall the steam client to a new location, or google something like "Steamtool" that allows you to move steam games to another drive and sets up pointers from the original file locations.

I use SteamTool, it works great.

Do you know of a way that I can keep games on 2 different drives from Steam. I will just fill up the other drive like I have the C: drive now if I have to move them all together??

Thanx much,

Wheels

Do note you need to be in the steam client beta! Also, as far as I'm aware you can't move the files of games that are currently installed using this method. You'll have to install the game again if you want to save it to a different location.

Go to Steam -> Setting -> Downloads -> STEAM LIBRARY FOLDERS

Add Library Folder. On the drop down menu, select which drive you want. Select which subfolder you want to put the new SteamLibrary in. For me its E:/Games/SteamLibrary.

Next time you download a game, you have the option of saving it in the new spot.

If you already have the game downloaded, use the app SteamMover
