FAQ (A Virus Named TOM)
If you have a question that isn't on here post it and we shall add
Will I get a Steam Key if I pre-order through the humble store widget on www.aVirusNamedTom.com? And does that guarantee a copy of the full game? Yes and Yes! You're Steam Key will be on your Humble Store download page (as of 5/10) I hear the co-op is joy in a bottle, but I don't like sitting next to people. Will there eventually be an update with Online multi-player? While the initial launch will be local co-op & battle only, we're hoping that after launch with either money from sales, or a kickstarter project (everyone's doin it!) we can add in online multiplayer. We always intended to put it in (actually had it in) but ran out of money in the end. We did, however, try to support all kinds of variations of input to make local play easier, but I get it that it's tough to play a PC game locally w/friends. What kind of Steamworks features does the game have? Leaderboards, Achievements/Stats, and Cloud saves. How do I report a problem (crash/bug/issue) with the game? Please see the "Beta issues here please" thread at the top of the forum. You can post there or email us. There's also info about how to find an error log in case of a crash. I know this is probably a silly question, but a beta purchase now does guarantee a copy of the full game doesn't it? (and a Steam key?).

Steam keys seem to be a bit earlier than expected, they are on the Humble store page now!

We weren't able to keep the online stuff in, ran out of funds, but we hope to add it and/or level editor next. We may kickstart it... or make so much loot in sales we wont need to! Probably kickstart it.

Yeah it would
I'd love to play some levels that weren't my own. I was thinking maybe we could get people to send in pictures of levels they made with pen & paper or photoshop to help promote it if we kickstart it or advertise it. Just a thought... must email press people, gahhh!!!

Hey guys!
I'm watching Giant Bomb's Quick Look right now. Personally, I'm not huge on puzzle games, but based on what I'm seeing, I was going to recommend TOM to a friend of mine. He's on a MacBook. Are there plans to take this game to OS X? Also, I would totally buy the soundtrack on its own if you threw it up on bandcamp! Cheers! |

They do have plans to port to Mac/Linux, but I have no clue when this would happen.

![]() Yes, we have plans to port to Mac. The timeline hasn't been set yet, but we've been discussing it (and the several other ports and upgrades we intend to release) over this last week. Keep an eye on the forums, twitter, and fb over the next couple of weeks. We'll be releasing more details as we get them. As it nears completion, we'll also be looking for Beta testers, which your friend may also be interested in participating (for anyone reading this thread: don't submit your interest in being a beta tester just yet. We won't be able to keep track of all the emails and posts! We'll post an official call for beta testers here on the forums when we are ready to accept them...). As porting takes time, and as we'll also be porting to other platforms at the same time, I wouldn't expect to see a Mac version available for sale until late this year, early next. As far as the soundtrack, that's a good idea. We'll check it out. We were dissapointed that Steam only allowed the DLC to be purchased by people that already own the game, and it sounds like a site like that might be a good alternative. Thanks!
