Family business for more classes ?
Hello everybody.
You all know that the Heavy got this shotgun : the Family business. It's a pretty good weapon, but it's not really usefull for the Heavy. My suggestion : give the Family business to the Soldier, Pyro and the Engineer. The advantage of this weapon for those classes : -The Soldier can rely on his secondary for a longer time when he need to reload his primary. -The Pyro can shoot fleeing target and further away ennemies for a longer time. -The Engineer...... well, if we give this weapon for the Soldier and the Pyro, why we don't give it to the Engineer ? Of course, this weapon deal less damages, which is a good downside. If you have anything else, no matter if it's about the other advantages, problems, or that you like cheese, just use your voice ! I agree with all of this. There's really no reason not to give it to the other classes, unless Valve doesn't want to ruin the "Mobster Heavy" theme. Although, to be honest, when they gave the Reserve Shooter to Pyro, they broke that rule anyway.

For every “give family business to other classes” thread I see I think to myself: “Why is this topic made?”
The answer is always the same: it’s not that people want the weapon on other classes. It’s that it would be cool if the other classes each had a new shotgun. The stats on the FB suck. They’re boring and only really make sense for the heavy (and yet is still pointless.) I’d love a new soldier/pyro/engie/etc shotgun, nut not the FB. Even if it’s balanced on them I’d rather have something new and fun. Plus the FB is sort of ugly and is buggy in tunes of ways. |

Eh. The Family Business is a really boring weapon. It's not bad, but its stats are just really uncreative and don't exactly do much to shake up the game. It's pretty much just, well...a second Shotgun.
I guess giving it to the other Shotgun classes would be nice if it happened, but at the same time I wouldn't care too much if it didn't. |

Two extra shots in exchange for a slightly reduced amount of damage would be amazing for defensive purposes, namely Engineer.
Too bad it's not going to happen, and this weapon will stay useless. |

I want to use the FB on the pyro.
But the only class that can use it is useless for. Its just a freaking shotgun anyway and over half the classes can use shotguns, these really aren't weapons that need to be restricted to one class, and certainly not for some inane reason like "its part of the heavies set". So what, it offers no bonus for having the whole set and offers no bonus that synergizes with the heavy playstyle. It doesn't have *any* bonuses. Its a simple stat change weapon. Ignore that its part of the heavy mobster set, which has no set bonus anyway. What reason is there to restrict it to the heavy? None. |

I have yet to make a thread about it even though I am an extreme Family Business supporter. I think the only thread I ever made concerning a weapon was one about the Gunslinger right after the short-lived nerf that gave random crits to all weapons that previously couldn't, while reducing their damage by 25%.
