Random CTD's with nVidia Driver 296.10

Hi everyone,

I wanted to see if anyone else has been having an issue with random crashes to the desktop after installing nVidia driver 296.10.

I installed it a week ago, and couldn't play Skyrim for more than 15 minutes without getting a crash to the desktop in the middle of gameplay. No stuttering or artifacts or warnings of any kind, just trotting along some random path in Skyrim and *bip!* ...I'm staring at the desktop.

I was able to to fix this by reverting to 290.36. Now I can run the game for hours on end without trouble.

Prior to reverting, I had tried re-installing the 296.10 driver with the "clean installation" option, defragmenting the HD, re-installing Skyrim (and playing with completely vanilla settings, i.e. no mods), starting a new game, and I still would get those pesky CTD's within minutes.

As far as I could tell, only Skyrim was having issues with the 296.10 driver. I was able to play Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3, and a few other "3"'s, as well as all my older games without any issues.

So yeah, has anyone else been having trouble since installing 296.10, or was it just me?
