Fix the pans!

Fellow demopans! The update for the frying pan made us all happy. Unfortunately, with something good, there's always something bad. The glorious pan has been turned into an abomination, which no true demoman would use! Frying pan is no longer held in the magnificent way it used to be. No, no. Now the noble demopan holds it like a physically incapable seal!

Valve, in your honor, i'm demanding a cure for this. Every living demopan is shocked by this. We are all forced to drink again, for this horrible update! Ignore all the game breaking bugs, new weapons and other games. Fix the pans! Save the innocent demopans, who are forced into drinking after years of being good cooks and sober men!

That's all. NOW FIX IT.

+1 topic about fixing the pan’s positioning. It’s also very heavily themed.

I haven't had a chance to check, but let me guess.

They gave it the saxxy hand positions.

I'm sure Valve know about it already. It's hardly important anyway.

The problem that arises is that weapons aren't coded to accept multiple animations based on class.

Prior to them being made almost-all-class, they just used the default melee animations for the respective classes.

Once they replaced that with the Saxxy animations to allow other classes to use it, the Soldier and Demoman had to follow suit.

The only way to bring it back to how it used to be is to either remove the Pan from every class except Demoman and Soldier (not gonna happen) or to recode the way that weapons accept animations (also not gonna happen because of how deep-rooted that code is).

If anything, they'll adjust the positioning of the Pan so it fits properly in everyone's hands with the Saxxy animations.

I've thought of a simple fix! The Pan is no longer a melee weapon, but a secondary grenade-style weapon similar to Jarate/Mad Milk. Pressing M1 causes the pan to slip from the users hand and fly forward in an arcing trajectory. Should the pan make contact with an enemy, then the enemy is stunned in a similar fashion to the Sandman's ball.

There, not only is the problem solved, but now the weapon is more useful as well!

I CAN'T HOLD MY PAN WHEN IT'S FRESH OFF THE STOVE. I CAN BARELY GRIP IT WITHOUT GIVING MYSELF BURNS ON MY HANDS NOW!

Pans> TOBOR, MTP, balancing enforcer and pomson, and gordborts weps.
