What would you like to see in Tobor /MVM/ Saxxies?

As you are aware, robot boss fights seem to be head towards us. We are also likely to get MTP, Saxxys, and Soure Filmaker at roughly the same time. Do you think we would get these changes together, or as two different updates throughout the year? What feature would you like to see

I would think integrating the forums directly into the game (in so far as giving a notice about a thread that you are interested in) I would also like to see weapons that create new dynamics rather than alter stats (for example creating a scattergun designed around defensive play or medics syringes that shot poison that can only be healed by other medics).

I doubt the Tobor update will come with the Saxxys. Last year the Saxxys were mostly a way to stall for time until the Uber Update, so I predict this year's Saxxys will be the same. Just something to keep people occupied until the real big update comes.

Depends on what you mean by an announcement.

If you mean a straightforward "There's a big update coming soon," the Uber Update was announced three days before it happened.

However, the same update that added the Saxxy also placed doves throughout every Valve-made map. And before that, the Meet the Director comic included stills from Meet the Medic. (There was also a leak about the Uber Update even before all of this stuff, but that wasn't official, so I guess it doesn't count for your question.)

So...Valve was teasing the Uber Update over a month before it happened.

Saxxies: Fixed Replay Errors/Crashing
MtP: Pyro's race/gender revealed, Official Female Merc Skins, new hats/weapons.
TOBOR: Robot Hoard Mode, Man vs Machine, (a boss mode similar to VSH where a team of mercs is pitted against 1 giant robot boss who's controlled by a random player) Some new Robot themed hats/weapons.
Overall: No resurgence of the infamous "hl2.exe has stopped working" crash!

interesting discussion. I can certainly see having two updates, but I would love getting one. I guess its a debate over quantity of updates versus time between updates. If we got one update it would take more time to get done, but we'd get more meat. If we got two small updates, we would have them take slightly less valve time but would not get as much in them.

I want to be sure that when I submit my videos for the Saxxies, they actually go through and can be voted on. I submitted two videos last year and they didn't end up in voting because the submission thing ♥♥♥♥ed up and I only realized it when it was too late.

Saxxies: Fixes for crashes and speeding up the time it takes for Replays to save and all that.
MVM: Offical version of VSH.
Tobor: Official version of VSH.

Overall: More Medic/Spy/Pyro/Engineer weapons, official VSH gamemode, Meet the Pyro (duh), lots of comics. I bloody love the TF2 comics.

Saxxies: More replay categories, like luckiest kill.
Because that would make a great category and not because I have a perfect video for it.
MTP: I don't play Pyro so if Valve releases a weapon alongside the short all I ask is that it not be an unbalanced P.O.S. like the phlog. Also a good video for MtP.
T.O.B.O.R.: The "Killing Floor" style wave onslaught with robots and an endboss sounds neat, but I'd settle for some cool new robotic content especially weapons.
