What is an EVBot Connector? *STILL NO GOOD INFO*

So I was looking at some of the higher end EVGA GPUs and noticed that instead of an HDMI connector they have 2 DVIs and something called a EVBot connector.

I tried looking some stuff up on this but most of it reads like stereo intructions.

Yeah, that still doesn't tell me how I'm suppose to hook up my HDTV with HDMI ports to my this GPU that I'm looking at.

All that page tells me is how this gadget works and the positives and all that crap.

See on that page he linked to you where it says 'Download Manual'?
I'm thinking that's what you want, it's just a hunch but I'm guessing it's a good one.

As far as hooking up HDMI to DVI, same as always, an HDMI-DVI adapter.

It comes with a DVI to HDMI adapter. I am assuming you are looking at the GTX580 Classified, but if you feel like it you could tell us the GPU in question.

Always? Right now I have a an HDMI cord connected to my GPU, which is why I'm confused on where I'm suppose to go from here.

there is a special plug on the graphics card that the EVbot plug's in to watch the video..

Id does not plug in to A HDMI port

The card comes with a DVI>HDMI adapter.. I don't see a problem..

In the video the adapter was HDMI to DVI n ot DVI to HDMI.

I was making sure that this adapter was the only way that I was going to be able to use my HDTV. Thats a lot of money to spend not to be sure about something.

I guess I don't understand why they would make me use a DVI port if I have an HDMI connection.

I apologize sfade.....I seem to be to ignorant to comprehend. If you must, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if you didn't reply.

If you are connecting to a TV with DVI to HDMI adapter the picture will not suffer as both are digital connections however if you are planning on using the speakers in a tv for sound I do not believe that sound is carried over DVI ports.

Actually your wrong there. My EVGA 560Ti has DVI to HDMI audio capacity, it doesn't have that EVBot thing, but I have 3 sound devices for the video card showing in Nvidia CP.

Traditionally DVI doesn't have audio, but some manufacturers like EVGA make it work anyway. However, it might not work with just any DVI to HDMI adapter, you might need a specific one that carries the right DVI pins to the Audio HDMI pins. My card has HDMI so I haven't tried it.

Look at your own newegg link there is clearly a DVI>HDMI adapter isn't that enough to say it will work...
