Commandos and Windows 7 64 Bit

I couldn't find anyt conclusive answer to this question. Most of the threads about it are dated 2010 and some are dated 2011. What is the current situation? Will the games work or not? I'm thinking of buying the collection but don't want to support the developers for selling a release where the customer has maybe 10 % chance of actually being able to play the purchased games.

It works for me on Win7 32-bit, thought it runs way too fast. I suppose you'll need to slow down your CPU in some way to play it normally.

Have you tried forcing V-sync? With older titles, high FPS can sometimes cause the game to run really fast.

It seems to help, but i suppose that even 60 fps is still above normal running speed for these games.

DId you guys try the fixes using the links on the last page of this stickie thread?

http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...1331567&page=4

They fixed the games for me (winXP). Normal speed, no save issues. Try setting the compatibilty to win98/winxp after applying them.

Don't try the force V-sync thing. Just use the patches in the stickie on top.

I've downloaded that patch for my Windows 7 64bit and it's working great. No save issues whatsoever. However, I didn't use the compatibility mode.

Thanks for the replies. It seems nothing has changed since the release. If I'm really lucky the games work without any fan-made patches,if I'm lucky they work after some fan-made patches. Won't be buying this release. Hope that the developer (or the owner of the series) will fix this compatibility problem in the future.
