Why AMD CPU and GPU? What country are you in and what is your budget?

All of the good gaming laptops under $1000 that I would recommend have Intel processors. By only accepting AMD processors with this request, you are really shooting yourself in the foot in terms of what you will get.

Spend like maybe 300-1000 more, you could get an alienware gaming laptop. They are decent.

I Think everyone has it in there head that Intel are over charging thug's so to speak, perhaps they where in the pre I series days but with the I series you have 2 platforms a cheaper platform in S1155 and a highend platform (S2011), pricing isn't much more ether a highend AMD setup cost about the same as a top of the line entry level platform Intel setup (AKA Socket 1155) witch will blow away anything AMD has right now..

To not conceder an Intel laptop really is silly considering the price performance Intel now offer not to mention there low power usage..

Take a look at the HP DV6z with the Radeon 7690M and the 1920x1080 display.

HP DV6z Quad Edition (A6-3420M, Radeon 7690M, 15.6" 1920x1080 matte display) - $749 + tax after coupon code 25LOGICBUY

HP DV6z Quad Edition (A6-3420M, Radeon 7690M, 15.6" 1920x1080 matte display) - $819 + tax after coupon code 25LOGICBUY

- Don't downgrade the display to 1366x768. 15.6" 1366x768 displays limit multitasking because they make things onscreen large, and they tend to have terrible image quality due to low contrast. I recommend against this type of display to those who have a budget that allows them to get a laptop that has a better display and at the same time suits their needs, and who don't require large text for eyesight-related reasons.

- The A8-3550MX is approximately 40% faster than the A6-3420M.

- Make sure that you go into the BIOS and change the switchable graphics settings from DYNAMIC to FIXED.

Generally, it isn't a good idea to buy Sagers directly from Sagernotebook.com. Buying from a good reseller will provide you with much better customer service.

These DV6 models are fairly commonly recommended on the NotebookReview forums: http://forum.notebookreview.com/

I'm also getting a bit tired of brand generalizations such as that. I deal with them all the time on NBR.

Coming from someone that adored HP for the longest time and saying to avoid them should say alot.

MSI, ASUS, Lenovo amongst a few others should be the 1s to be looked at, unlike HP,Dell,Gateway etc they dont load their systems with bloatware crap that you probably will never use.

Not entirely true... my lenovo came with a few things that were like "okay really? No one is going to use this." But otherwise, my lenovo rocks for what I payed.

Well you get the point.

But as far as HP goes unless they've changed in the past 3-4+ years or so they still load their HDs with crap.

Hell when i was with them id uninstall everything that wasnt important that came with the PC, and after a format id have to do it all over again.

Its a pain in the butt.
