connection failed: steam account not linked

So I'm trying to launch Super MNC and I am presented with a screen that asks me to register. I already have an uberent account so I click 'existing user', then fill in my uber username and password and get 'connection failed: steam account not linked'. So how the heck do I link my account? I didn't see any obvious places to do it within supermnc or the uber site. In searching I saw a mention that it was supposed to automatically sign you in so just don't type anything but I left it for a few minutes and nothing happened. Hope someone can point me in the right direction! Thanks.
