help! i can't join my friend's game..

i'll admit that i'm a complete moron with computer stuff..

i had to enter IP address... then the Server Port...
he gave me the numbers, but then when i enter them, it says "Connecting" but it stays like that. i left it for about an hour and then came back to it, and it was still like that. am i doing something wrong?
my friend doesn't really know what's going on either. this is the first time we tried this.. maybe the numbers he gave me were wrong or something.. idk.

can someone explain to me how to join my friend game?

If he's using hamachi you need it to, otherwise you need to forward your ports. I suggest just using hamachi, it's a quick and easy way to play with your friend

I have the same problem, can't connect to a friend's game even though they are using the same internet connection.

Something is broken, because it only works once, and then doesn't work at all.

How can they discontinue updates when a glaring issue like this is present?.
