Lightbulb If you had to give up a week of TF2 for the game to be repaired/optimized, would you?

An idea crossed my mind while watching my sentry mow down scores of helpless pyros.

If valve were to shut the game down for a week, for a massive optimization overhaul, bugfixes, and general engine upgrades, would you be okay with that?

I mean i certainly would, the game is is desperate need of a large-scale optimization.

Plus Diablo 3 is out.
And i have to tip my hats to SMNC, i started playing it for the tf2 hats, but when you work together, its a roaring good time.

EDIT; after 7 pages of support:

You see valve? People care more about operating efficency and optimization, than workshop hats and localization files.

Also, for those of you who can't understand a hypothetical question, im not saying valve needs to shut down the game to fix it, but if they did, and it came back with optimization/fixes, would that be acceptable?

Yep, have plenty of other games that could use my attention in the downtime.

Of course. I'd just play Fallout 3 or New Vegas in the meantime.

They could shut it down for a month if they actually fixed it. But I don't see how shutting down the game would help fix anything.

If it fixed everything I'd wait 3 months.

I would give up a month. I start the game at 100 frames, after 10 minutes, it drops to 30.
