Dead Island sale, worth it?

Not sure if people still play the game. And if there are good mods out there.

I'll get it when it goes to 75% off I think. Don't have the money or time at the moment.

Definitely worth it, especially at only $12. Another perk about buying it now is that you don't have to deal with the botched and humiliating launch issue that those of us who bought at full price suffered.

It gets repetitive, though, but it's still a steal at this price.

It's essentially a melee focussed Borderlands. With Dead Rising's weapon modding thrown in for funsies.

If you like zombies and clubbing them to death with an electrified wrench and a few friends sounds like fun to you, you'll bleedin' love this game.
Well worth the £8.

Both of these are totally true. The gameplay is a lot of fun, you seriously kill about 10.000 zombies, BUT it's a really long game and there's so many side quests that are very very repetitive. I still enjoyed it and do recommend it if you like FPS's and zombies. $12 is a good price for a game with this much content and quality.

It's a very realistic looking game. Unless you try to sneak, or you remember that you're paying yourself to upgrade that hammer.

June 26th, and will be priced at $29.99. The GOTY includes the standard game, along with downloadable content "Ryder White," "Bloodbath Arena" and "The Ripper."

Well worth picking up the core game at the current price tag, you'll get at least 30-60 hours of play time out of it.

I'd skip the GOTY edition however, the expansion packs are nothing to write home about, and add very little to the over all game itself.

It's Borderlands with melee weapons and great level design: still a few minor bugs, but it's a great game and there are some very cool mods.
I pre-ordered and don't regret it.

No. It's pretty awful and boring. I loved the first act but everything went downhill after I left the beach resort. The graphics are dated, the animations are abysmal (especially in co-op), the locations are bland, the zombies respawn in the same way that the guard posts in Far Cry 2 do, leveling up is pointless because all of your skills are nothing more than passive boosts, it's buggy as hell, etc.

It's pretty much Borderlands reskinned with zombies and I thought Borderlands was abysmal.

However, if you're into that kind of thing then you'll probably enjoy this game.

I would have to say, Hell YES! This game is far from perfect. But it's fantastic, none the less. I still haven't played the Ryder White DLC so I'm taking this sale opportunity to pick that up.

My one complaint about the game was the setting, I really want this type of game in a ruined city, but this covered quite a big itch for me, and The Dead Linger alpha is due out soon.
