Thief Deadly Shadows "no string tags found"

When I launch the game I receive "no string tags found for 't_-highloadingquote*1", and then it crashes with a Visual C++ runtime error.

I have followed this guide http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...t-1166808.html, and used imageCFG, both to no avail. I have also tried verifying the game cache, several times.
Anybody have any idea how to fix this?

Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Pentium CPU B960 2.2GHz
2 gigs of RAM
Intel HD (806MB)
Conexant SmartAudio HD

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\YourUsername\common\thief_go ld
Delete everything in there, launch Steam and verify integrity of game cache.

I assumed you meant DS, not gold, so I tried that. No luck.

Yeah I meant that, sorry.
While you have this issue, you should play Thief Gold and then Thief 2. Starting with DS can spoil a lot of the storyline.
Try contacting Steam Support-- they can help you much better than I can.

I had this issue, nothing would work. Thankfully Steam gave me a full $20 refund (back when the game was $20).
