Whats up with the rage about ds3?

Im actually having fun with it, and I like a lot that the what I select on the Dialogue choices, are said by my character, I hate games like dragon age origins that just assume he said that.

Im having fun, why this got so many bad reviews?

Basically, DS3 may be an ok game on its own, but it is very different from DS1 and 2. Whatever the reason (new dev, console, etc), it does not have many of the features of the previous games and fans of those games don't like the changes.

I have not played through more than the demo of 3 yet, but it does seem to be a very different experience with less fine control over your character(s).

Here's a short version... It's optimised to play on a Console...

I liked using my mouse on DS1 & 2

DS3 is to DS1&DS2 as Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is to BG1&BG2.

They are fun games on their own but they are dumbed down hollowed out shells of their predecessors.

Not only is it a huge step back from DS1 and 2 but it is also an awful console port.

Add to that a ridiculously crappy co op where you MUST stay on the same screen despite being on separate computers and screens, and its just all around a really BAD sequel as well as bad game in general.

Maybe reviewers didn't got payed enough to praise the game like they do for some other titles.

I played DS3, then I played Diablo 3, and then I played DS3 again. I actually didn't finish D3 because it was incredibly boring; being praised by reviewers didn't help a thing. As with all games out there, there are always those who love a game and those who hate it (and who are usually more vocal than those who love it). Just ignore the second group and enjoy.

Very true it is made for a gamepad. I tried playing with my mouse and after using my gamepad it was so much easier.

I agree. Enjoy the game and pay no attention to the reviewers behind the curtain.

I have just finished this game on singleplayer.
It is fairly ok to me because I didn't play any of its previous titles.
However, I intended to play this game for coop. It turnt out to be terrible.
So I would say this game is fairly ok for SP but never coop.

p.s. I played it with wireless controller.
