Non-Steam Games Disappearing From Library
I logged into Steam today and all my Non-Steam games I've added to my library disappeared from the list. This has happened in the past before, too. This a bug that they are working on, or anyone know a way to fix this?

i understand steam doesn't want competition but seriously if i find it cheaper or DRM free i'm getting it somewhere else regardless how many times steam removes it from my library. steams just jarateing me off and giving me another reason to shop else where. |

That, and half the games I have from other sites aren't even on Steam (Dark Fall 2, Manhunt 2, Crysis 2 [well, wasn't on here when I bought it], few random indie games, etc). I'm thinking it's a bug or something.

Yeah, kept happening to me too. I re-added them two or three times and then said pinkhearts it, I'll just put some shortcuts on my desktop.

Gotta post here. Happened for the fifth or so time now. Only been happening for the past year for me, but still annoying and relatively frequent.

It is a pain in the ♥♥♥♥ when it happens, but once you add them back again you can backup a file and then next time it happens just restore that file.
This is the post that tells you what to do |

Happened to me just now as well. It's annoying to me because I had several screenshots saved, and now the re-added game isn't associated with the screenshots folder anymore! Why did it do this?! >
![]() I will use that advice MonkeySeeker linked to. Hopefully that will preserve the screenshot thing too... |

But as for what causes it - apparently it is something to do with Steam not syncing properly on exit. For example if you quit windows while Steam is running it might not exit and sync properly before Windows force closes it. |

good to see that I can back up the file that has all my non-steam shortcuts but still it's really annoying. Please fix this Valve.

This is happening 100% of the time when I shut down Steam/my computer. Would love a fix right about now..

This is a regular issue for me and the rhyme or reason for it happening is not so apparent. All I know is every few weeks or months if I am lucky, I will have to add back all my non-steam games. They should give us the ability to restore it through a backup to their cloud vs us having to manhandle our way through all the games again or taking the time to make our own backups. Eventually I will stop caring and just say forget it since it is beyond annoying when you have a bunch of games to add back.
