Flashlight problem (Across all Source games)

See title.
Problem spans across Gmod,Half Life 2...etc.
The flashlight was working for a while before it completely malfunctioned.

Already tried verifying the cache,it threw a "1 file corrupted" notice at me.Nothing else then that and it didn't fix the problem.

Basically when I press F,it gives me a "turn on" sound effect,but no lights at all.

And why the hell should I give a screenshot if the flashlight doesn't even show up.

btw you take the screenshot after you push F key

Nothing abnormal or any lines referencing the flashlight in the console.

Have a screenshot of my HL2E1 where my flashlight is not working. But this forum won't let me post attachements. Is there another way to upload the screenshot

BTW... GeForce6600 GPU with most updated driver installed.

Wait... I thought that in EP1 the flashlight doesn't use AUX power anymore after the update to the EP2 engine? This seems to be old version. It's warez version (very unlikely, as you rly own the game on Steam) or steam didn't update the game or something?

half life 2 has the same thing, why would they only change that to ep1?

Whoops my bad. I thought they change it with the update to the EP2 system as well. Seems like I should play throuh HL games again, it's been a while I guess and I need to refresh my memory.

I'm having the exact same problem with L4D and L4D2 lately. The flashlight suddenly only illuminates objects and my teammates. Infected, walls, floors, etc. are not illuminated at all.

I've rolled back graphics drivers, played with just about every setting both in the game and on my GPU (Geforce 7950GT), and verified the game cache twice. Nothing is working and it makes the game pretty much impossible to play.

I bought the game in January and it ran perfectly fine until about a week ago.

The problem is with the updated Nvidia drivers. Keep rolling your drivers back until you can use the flashlight. Trust me. I had the same EXACT problem with this. I have a GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 GPU and I rolled by drivers all the back to version 285.38 and it works perfectly now. Hope this helps
