Upset Steam Support Customer Service

So my account got locked because steam wanted to verify I was the cardholder, although I've bought plenty of games and tf2 gear with the same card. However, I get this is just a precaution to protect the card holder. It's now going on 48 hours and I've been trying to buy torchlight II while it's on sale but I can't because my account is locked. I did what was request in the response (which took 24hours to get by the way), and my account has still yet to be unlocked. I've been using steam since I can remember, and have even used it while deployed overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan. The level of customer service I have received so far is disheartening. I doubt writing this on the forum will do anything, but atleast I can express my displeasure, and maybe just maybe someone from steam will see this and help. My ticket number is 9903-PXVM-4256.

Well this isn't the best solution but you could create a new account, buy the game as a gift and send it to your main account afterwards.

Steam Support is just terrible, they always take forever to reply to you.

I appreciate the alternate course of action caiosm, but I've waited this long, might as well ride it out, and yes slayer I totally agree at this point.

These are community forums, so posting here does not make a support ticket answered any faster. They'll get back with you as soon as possible. There are other people with tickets submitted too.

Thank you Matt, I understand this, as I stated, it is a gripe, not a personal vendetta for customer service change.

Seeing that you submitted a ticket during the sale, I'd assume they'll allow you to purchase it for the sale price (I think it was D2D, though it may have been Steam that did this for me before)

It can be annoying dealing with the service, but that goes with any customer service- especially over weekends. Steam customer service has usually settled my issues in a fair amount of time, hope yours gets resolved quickly

Torchlight 2 is going to be on presale for awhile as the release date is still far away. There's no need to 'rush' to get it.

Steam doesn't have a lot of employees, so it's understandable that it may take a little while to get your stuff taken care of. Is your account locked as in you cannot access it and play games? Or is it you just cannot buy games at the moment? Torchlight 2 is going to be on sale for a while yet, as it does not have a full release date listed yet. So I wouldn't worry about that too much.

I may be mistaken, but as far as I know, Torchlight 2 does not have a discount. The current price is the same price it will be upon release. The only difference is that you can currently get Torchlight 1 for free. But you appear to already own Torchlight 1, so not getting it for free (in a worst case scenario) isn't that big a loss.

Still, based on my experience with Steam Support they are quick to resolve any problem that interferes with your ability to give Valve money. It's all the other issues that they are generally really poor at resolving.

OT: They can be rather slow, I just had a ticket recently and it took them close to 5 days to get back to me. They got it all sorted eventually however.
