It's a good game, really. I have 12 hours in the game and I didn't 100 % it! My major complaint it's that it doesn't introduce any new mechanic on the course of the game.. Some people will like because it keep it simple, but I don't like that!

If you liked the demo, you will like the game

I liked the demo, but the interface seemed really bad to me. also, pretty weird key bindings...

This game has great writing, lots of funny stuff and almost EVERY object can be examined for a unique piece of text, often reading differently whether you are in human or werewolf form. The core puzzle game is really fun too, not painfully challenging but always results in a good logic deduction. There are definitely some tougher ones later into the game, but considering there's a hint function to help you if need be, the focus is clearly on the writing in this one, and the writers did their job well! I love this game, picked it up on a whim upon release and was quite impressed, got a lot of hours out of it. A memorable game and a real bargain!

If you would like:
pushing boxes around an area to solve puzzles
checking every square in said area for jokes
changing into a werewolf
goofy story, attractive music, strong characterizations, stylish art, snarky humor
supporting Australian devs

then you should get this game!

I'd actually vote that you save your money, it's good, but I bet you a hundred bucks in the next few months it'll be in at least a dozen Indie Bundles. These Daily Deals always bring out a small indie title, and then people like Indie Gala or Indie Royale see it and decide to put it in their bundle.

Keep spreading the word. "In the next few years" we dont have to buy Indie bundles anymore as its not profitable for devs to make games anymore....

New mechanics introduced during the course of the game include steel boxes that can only be pushed and not pulled, teleporters in the water (that can be covered up in some levels), moonlight spots that move with every use, switch panels that appear from the ground, and split transformation squares that either turn you into a wolf or back, but not both. Also there's a novel way to access new rooms via the gypsy.

Does that count for nothing? ;-)

My favorite part of the game is the "here's an item, guess which of the NPCs will want it" side quest chain.

It's a good game, and I've had great fun playing it. A very good casual puzzler with lots of play time in it.

If you enjoy puzzlers or are just looking for a change of pace, I would recommend it; it's genuinely funny and good value for your money (over ten hours certainly, even longer if you stop and examine all the scenery like you should~). The commentary is interesting, the writing is clever and the puzzles have a well-graded difficulty curve, making you think without ever getting obnoxious or artificially drawn-out.

I think the bundles are a great way for devs to make money. Indie Royale and Indie Gala always sell over 10,000 bundles at least. And the average min price is about $5 even if you don't take into account that a lot of people pay above the minimum asking price the average cut of the sales per game is probably a lot more than you think. It's an ingenious incentive for new devs to get their games out and well established ones kinda prop up the bundles with their popularity.

As for this game I played the demo over the weekend. Not my cup of tea. But if it was bundled with a bunch of other games I want then I'd probably play it. See how that works? So yeah, spread the word and watch the popularity soar.

lol, MacGuffin's Curse is in Indie Royale's Halloween bundle. Less than 24 hrs and it's already sold 7,000. Yeah, I continue to stand by my previous statement. Indie bundles are popular.

They probably aren't going to make a whole lot, unless lots of people pay more than $8 to get the bonus stuff. I agree that people like the bundles, especially if you were after an insanely cheap copy of Devil's Playhouse which normally goes for a lot higher. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason it's sold so many bundles already.

Still, as long as Brawsome sees a good chunk of money overall, I suppose it's a successful venture.
