this game is very hard

or am i missing something? i walk around and try to get items but before i get anything decent the sheer amount of enemies will have killed me.

Yes it's always like that at first, some quick suggestions:

- play the Mask of the boy king quest, it's the easiest one

- pay attention to potions and scrolls names, you'll learn to recognize the good ones from the bad ones soon

- pay attention to resistances and vulnerabilities, avoid fire and silver vulnerabilities because they're the most dangerous, try to pay attention to the quest monsters and their damage type or vulnerability

- when you die, try to think about why you died, sometimes it will only be bad luck, sometimes you could have done something different/better. Keep in mind that the number of your deaths unlock new characters, so dying is not all that bad.

- if you need more suggestions search for the forums in the game's website, you'll discover many other things but i don't recommend you to do that, part of the fun in this game is trying to figure out how to not die.

It's a Roguelike, they are supposed to be hard. Wouldn't be fun if you could just blast through the dungeons in a few minutes now would it? Would kill the fun honestly.

Well, the name would kinda imply that it's hack & slash, which apparently it is not at all, so I can understand if someone thinks it is too hard.

They should be less illiterate and actually read the description of what they're buying then, it plainly states what it is.

Rougelikes are a niche genre. Many are not going to know how to approach one correctly, even if they've heard the term before. During the free beta the devs own forum was filled with posts about it being hard so this kind of question is not unique.

And you're looking for comprehension, not illiteracy.
