How to increase your update download speed

Not sure why this works but if you go to Steam>Settings>Downloads+Cloud

and change your download region to Ukraine, you download a LOT faster. I went from 300 KB/s to 900 KB/s

Hope this helps guys.

I went to Germany (Hamburg) and got about 1.8 mb/s... finished the update really quickly. There's no rush though, you can't access anything since the item servers are down.

It also helps if you delete clientregistry.blob from your Steam folder.

Do you need to restart steam or does it just take effect immediately?
