RIFT gametime handling on purchase

Hello, dear community!

I've very much enjoyed the 1 month with RIFT I've got from the raptr promo, basically getting me the game and the collector's edition upgrade. (thus 1 month playtime)
As I would like to buy some new playtime soon I'm asking myself if I should wait and see if RIFT gets discounted on the Steam Summer Sale, as the Steam version includes a 1 months subscription according to it's description.
But what confuses me is that the Notice there says that the subscription will only be included for new accounts. So I would like to know if buying the game on Steam will be equal to buying a 1 month game card, with the bonus of having the game on Steam, or if the game time will just vanish for my account and the only thing I get is the steam-bound client version?

In hope that someone can answer that,

you will need to subscribe on trions website for more time on that account, you cannot add a brand new game to your existing account for game time. but they have a good deal on multiple month subscriptions right now!

As an avid MMO player I have to say that Multi-month plans for MMOs is really not a good idea since you can never be sure when you will get bored and quit. Nobody wants to be stuck paying for several months of a game they have no interest in playing. I resisted the 1 year WOW plan (with free Diablo 3) and within a month I was so bored of the game I quit, same thing happened with AION, RIFT, Swtor, and a handful of other games I binged on for a few months then quit.

Yeah, my favorite would be buying 2 month gametimecards from eBay, as they have a cheaper price/value than the 6 month plan.

I have recvently started playing RIFT again and now when my 1 month subscription is going out i tryed to find some place to buy a gamecard but every store i look at here in Sweden says that they are not selling them anymore. Have RIFT stopped with gamecatds?
