Thumbs up VALVe announce STEAM Greenlight

Sounds like a good and fair idea.

Quote:
Valve have just announced Steam Greenlight. The new service will work like the Steam Workshop, but for indie games. Creators can submit their work for rating by gamers, and the best rated games will then enter Valve’s approval process for inclusion in the Steam store.

Reminds me of the old Project Greenlight show.

That sounds pretty good. Seems that they don't have a release date yet, but hope they do it soon.

This should make everyone happy that makes threads like "OH MY GAWD WHY WAS THIS GAME REJECTED." I approve of this new service.. As usual.. Valve delivers something excellent. Someone posted the website in the comments section?

Sounds like a fair chance with no ifs, ands, buts or twitter.

Edit: Also, I hope this expands into something much bigger in the future such as community ratings on games on Steam rather than metacrtic.

That looks awesome, no more people screaming here that their favourite indie game is rejected.

I wish I could high five Valve. Just once. I know it seems silly but it would the best high five ever. I feel as though, the things they do is the reason why the high five was invented.

This is all fine and wonderful, but why don't they finish the projects they are already working on? Like Big Picture mode for example.

Sounds great... Or would sound great if not for the fact that it's something Steam already must do: offer a proper and speedy publishing process for games. Bah.
