Shouldn't actually ask for your password, should just ask you to connect with your Steam.

Dont tell your passwords.
No exceptions! Anyway, the rules to redeem the game discount are stating: Log into your steam client. No word about "give away your password". Even pictures were added. Again, dont do exceptions to the rule that pops up each time when you start a chat: Dont give away your password. Its the golden rule of the internet. |

raptr does not need your password.
I already complained to raptr about this. Don't enter it. It is enough to connect the account in the account settings on the webpage. http://raptr.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20650 |

Actually i wrote my answer on my own.
Wise. Blah. Quote:
![]() Results may vary. So what? Its your choice to evaluate the necessary of sharing a password, and doing it. But i would not suggest it to everyone. I hope you were saying this because you thought i would have spoken especially about that page. All password behaviour tips are generalizations though. Its common sense. While sharing a password is not. No matter who might have implemented such a "service". |

Even if they were legit? I wouldnt give them your password. Your totally relying on the idea that they keep a secure database. Sony thought so to. Any company asking for my Steam password is instantly on my suspicion list. They have absolutely no need what so ever for it.
But hey, peoples accounts are being hacked left and right from this very thing lately. Unless its Steam itself, I offer my password to no one. |

Raptr is legit. I have received that very coupon you are trying to redeem along with a free month of Xbox Live, 2 free XBLA games, and beta access to Future Soldier. Somewhere in account settings you can link your Steam, Xbox, and PS3 profiles to Raptr.
It's actually a pretty sweet service. Allows console gamers to see exactly how many hours we spend on games

I wouldn't enter it, since you have absolutely no disadvantage. The achievement and statstracking works without it. And I don't want raptr to pipe the steamchat into raptr anyway. Btw I got Rift Digital CE incl. 2 months of gametime. |

And ok, I see what you're saying now. I personally have all my gaming identities linked with passwords and whatnot on Raptr's desktop app simply because I find the combined friends list convenient. This isn't necessary at all though, as mentioned in your linked thread. |

They don't need your password, I agree. But raptr is a sweet client, got some nice discounts for some games and gear on there
