Cannot start Civ V/Screen too big

Opened Civ V last week for the first time in a while and received an auto-update. I have over 600hrs played, but now cannot play at all. I get to the start screen and cannot choose any options to start a game as all I can see is the top left hand corner of the screen. My PC is updated and I have all the newest drivers for my video card (AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series). Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be much appreciated.

The instructions for correcting resolution problems are on that page.

Quote:
Sometimes after installing the game, the game resolution will be larger than the screen and parts of the game will be cut off. To fix this, go into options and change the game resolution. If you are unable to access the options, manually edit GraphicsSettingsDX9.ini or GraphicsSettingsDX11.ini (depending on which DirectX mode you use) in \My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\ to the correct resolution (1024x768 Minimum).

Problem solved, thank you ragan651 for the information on how to solve my dilema. I have always played in DX11 but for some reason the screen is still too big after changing the values, although I have no problem playing in the DX9 mode. I am not sure if there is a difference between either of them, but so far so good.
