Spellforce Platinum not remembering CD key or settings

Like it says in the title. I bought the Spellforce bundle from the Steam sale yesterday. Spellforce Platinum asks me to enter the CD key every time I start it up. I tried the suggestion(s) of making steam.exe and spellforce.exe "run as administrator" but no success.

Also, I can change the video and sound options in the game, but they are also not remembered when I restart the game.

OK, I got around my problem. I had to turn UAC on, and THEN run steam as administrator. Once I entered the CD key, I turned UAC off again and now spellforce starts up without asking for the key.

Oh, and it now remembers the settings too.

What is UAC? I run into this problem as well with the cd key.

user account control you can find that in you Users through your windows control pannel

Also the issue tends to appear if you run the game windowed and then in full screen and also when u try to run in windowed ul be asked for the key
