Steam scanning for license updates

Hi, i just bought Skyrim, and when i clicked to install my games, i get "steam scanning for license updates" I'v waited for around 10-30 mintues and nothing happened, the window remained there and it looked as no progress was made, i cancelled it, and when i went into my library i didn't find Skyrim on my list. I have tried restarting my steam, deleting certain files but nothing is fixing it. Can someone please help me?

Same thing happened to me yesterday with Sonic Generations. I first restarted steam, then went to the store and found my game. (Find Skyrim in your case.) Then click the "Play Game" button. Installation should start up.
