Why do people hate DRM?

Looking at the Arkham City DRM thread and I don't get why people hate it. I bought it, played it. Thought it was great, worth my money. Don't see what's bad about it? :S

It's bad because it tooks away from you what should be yours by right...

When you have one with activation limits, you learn the hard way that your only renting games. Any changes to your pc, like simple upgrades count as an activation. Your HD dies? Thats another activation. What happens if the company goes out of business? Activation servers go with them.

Some forms of DRM are really annoying and simply inexcusable, like limited activations or a need to be always online. It's crap, as an honest customer you're treated worse than a thief.

Some DRM does nasty stuff or is just annoying and gives the rest a bad name.

Yep it does, 5 or 10 activations(forgot which) and no more, once you use all your activations the game is no longer yours.

I never noticed any bull with GFWL. I don't even notice that it's there in any games I've played.

I'm not sure about what you meant, but if you asked if Steam was bad, yes it is. If GOG had every Steam game I wouldn't be here anymore...
