What are your system specs? The others ask for something called a DxDiag, but I can never remember the instructions for that, and really, the main thing we always look at is your graphics card, anyway.

This is unknown to me. Could possibly be that you run Windows 8 Consumer Preview 32-bit ?
I have no knowledge about this OS. But ... Close to certain, you WILL need .NET 3.5 installed and activated. My guess is that it's included in the OS, but make sure it's also activated. Having only .NET 4.0 installed might not do. |

Magicka is unstable as hell in general, still...
It crashes for me on the Khan boss fight, right as I kill him, most of the time. Record was like 12 times in a row. And then it just froze his animation... |

And forgot the obvious.
To make sure it's not a corrupt file, verify game integrity. Like this. And if this is a Win-8 issue, try running the game in Win-7 compability mode. ------------------------------------------------ Quote:
Thanks for all help in here Vimescarrot. |

Yes, and probably also .NET 3.5 ( the version Magicka is using )
So just make sure .NET 3.5 is activated. Why 3.5? I'm not 100 % sure. But some of the early errors back when Magicka was released was solved installing//activating .NET 3.5. Although the player already had 4.0 installed. There are even posts where players claim to have fixed an issue with uninstalling .NET 4.0. Like this one. However, having several .NET versions installed shouldn't be a problem. Obviously your error is something totally else then the appcrash I linked to. The only similar exception-error I've seen is from a patch that included a filename bug. And the FIPS-problem. So that's why I suggested a "verify integrity". Sorry I can't be of more help. |
