How does STEAM Summer Sale work?

I know its a stupid question, but how long do the games stay on sale? I want to buy Skyrim and many other games tomorrow and it says it's on sale until July 23rd, but other people are saying that the games are only on sale for 30 hours? Someone please answer? Thanks.

The Daily Deals are on sale for 36 hours. Community Choice games are on sale for 8 hours. The Flash Deals have a timer next to them. Everything else is on sale until the 23rd at the price it is listed (unless they become a Community Choice or Flash Deal; in which case they will return to the original sale price afterwards).

How do I find out which games are part of the Summer sale? I have some money tucked away since I'm getting a new gaming PC, so I wanted to get some new games that I can enjoy.

All of the Daily Deals are listed on the front page. The Community Choice and Flash Deals are listed to the side.

Most games are on sale right now. Just watch the front page for updates on each of the deals, especially Community Choice and Flash Deals.

If you search for a game and visit the description page, it will tell you how much the game is discounted. You can either buy it then or wait it out and hope that it goes on sale for even more before the 23rd.

Theres no list which games will be on the sale, just check out this group, the store frontpage (and some threads in this forum). The main deals will change once a day, the ones on the right side more often.

Have fun, man. The Summer Sale is a fantastic time.

My suggestion is to make a wishlist of the games you know you want, and just keep stalking their pages to see if they're discounted even more. Best of luck to you.

I'd say 90-95% of all the games available on Steam go on sale at a certain discount and these last throughout the Summer sale. Some games may end up as a daily deal/flash deal/community choice deal usually last a certain amount of hours, but they have an even bigger discount. For example. Skyrim originally had a 33% discount, and this will stay throughout the sale. But when it was a daily deal, it was 50% off 36 hours. And if it wins the Community Vote, it'll be 50% again, but last 8 hours.
