Crashes as soon as log in to multiplayer

I am able to connect to the log in screen, log in, but then the game crashes and a "send error report" screen appears. The game plays in single player fine and my internet is ok. What's the problem here?

EDIT: Hmm. Are the servers even online? There was a link to the server status here and Im seeing a lot of red... though I dont know what that means xD

Uh.... please, someone help? What could I do to fix it, the problem is still persisting

The servers are up and running. The red was related to portions of the service that were used over the years.

With regards to your issue, have you attempted it with the expansions either? You may want to verify game files or attempt a reinstall. Or, try in windowed mode (hit alt + enter).

it doesnt work with expansions either. Ill try windowed mode then.

Sorry to rehash this old thread but I am having the exact same problem. I just installed AOE3 via Steam and as soon as I log in to multiplayer my game crashes. Tried changing video settings and running in window mode but no cigar.

Know the problem. ahh back in time, one used Lan when one wanted to have a multiplayer

I'd try reinstalling.

Are you running the core game or one of the expansions?
