CD copy to steam?

Gday all,

I bought the CD copy of this game ages ago and I am keen to play it again. I installed it on my computer (Laptop, Win 7) and I am having trouble getting it to work. My main preference is to just put the CD key into steam and handle it like a normal steam game but when I tried activating it on steam it said the CD key was invalid... Does anyone how to do this?

Very much appreciated.
I am having trouble getting it running anyway so might just take the hit and buy it again... it has been a while but I remember it being a good game... worth buying again?

Cheers!
