Crash when disconnecting/map change

Every time I disconnect from a server or the server changes map, TF2 crashes, and I get the good old hl2.exe has stopped working. Is anyone else experiencing this? It has been like this for a week or so.

I get this too. It's really annoying, hopefully someone can find a fix, because I haven't yet.

My brother has been having this happen every time to him as well, but I have been not having these issues (but still tf2 performance has been terrible since the past 2 updates). Anyone having these issues using XP? (I only say this because it is really the only major difference between my computer and my brother's)

Happening to me too. Been playing for 2 years and this happened out of nowhere. I did not change anything software or hardware wise either.

Getting this too at the moment.

Sometimes on map change, sometimes on disconnecting or trying to exit the game. Using Win XP btw

I swear this game's been such unstable ♥♥♥♥e since the Manniversary update last October. Every few months a new crash-fest will ensue, Valve will temporarily fix things and then crap will hit the fan again some time later.

Oh and to all of you that usually go ''it's your PC, not Valve's fault, gotta upgrade that toaster etc.'' - been playing the game for 4 years and the stability and performance of TF2 has been dreadful the last year or so. Not just for me, for many of us that used to run it without issues.

Just remember this when you eventually start having issues.

I was having this problem too, and ended up reinstalling TF2, which fixed it.

verfied game cache,defrag game cache. Deleted local files,did a clean uninstall with revo uninstaller,reinstall. Still the same problem. And I highly doubt it has anything to do with my computer.

Need a fix!

I did all that stuff too and didn't fix it (it ever fixed anything to me, to be honest...).

But the fact that, one day everything is fine, the next day there's updates and this, made me conclude beforehand that it's a problem with the game.

Reinstall didn't work for me. Getting really lame being only able to play 1 match before the game crashes.

Yeah I've been getting it too. However, sometimes when I disconnect it would freeze then go to the Main Menu like it should. It crashes more, though. (Using Windows 7)

I just had this start happening within the last week. Every map change, crash. every disconnect, crash. I disabled HTML MOTD's, and tried connecting to a non pure server, all to no avail. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
