I ended up getting it for free by trading in a couple games I got on GMG for free a while ago. Yay! I was a bit disappointed when this never went on sale on Steam.

Just recently bought this on GMG. Thanks for posting this thread though. This should help more people get into this really good jRPG. I hope a lot of people still buying this, and wanting to play it, will tell Square-Enix to release more of their games on the PC.

What the hell, their site wouldn't let me use Paypal so I created a support ticket then they told me to jarate off?

Can you be more specific? That doesn't sound like them at all, GMG generally has very good customer support. Post the e-mails that you and GMG sent.

I couldn't even get their site to redirect me to Paypal.com and they told me they would rather not deal with me than explain exactly what I was doing wrong.

Ooh wow, that is really weird. I would recommend trying again, and hopefully you get someone different who will help, but forget that. I wouldn't go through them ever again. You're completely correct.

Did you try to pre-order Dark Soul? They said they have the store page however they are NOT taking any pre-order atm, only for that game.
